Analysis & Other Info

The reasons behind what people name their dogs are often very personal to the owner. As shown in the pie chart, the majority of respondents named their dogs after something they like, for example, Sharkie was named because his owner loves sharks (see blog post). Others might be named something bright to bring joy. For example, Maisie was named because her owner wanted a name that would brighten her life since the owner has a lot of scary medical issues (blog post coming soon).

Analysis & Other Info

The most popular holidays people celebrate with their dogs seem to be the dogs' birthdays and Christmas. Many people celebrate those days by giving their dogs special meals and treats or even new toys.
