In response to a survey, one respondent (@lei !! <3) shared her relationship between and her dog, Sharkie.
She shared that she named her dog Sharkie because she loves sharks and since he's an 11-month-old puppy, he's "super chompy", trying to bite her hands any moment he can.
She shared that with her late dog, whom she referred to as her soul dog, she used to celebrate his Gotcha Day (adoption day), Christmas, and sometimes Halloween, though she typically left him at home since he was frightened by all the people. During Christmas, she would get him a see-through dog stocking filled with toys, the one that you can buy at the store, though he was never all that interested in them. Like many dog owners, lei feels like Sharkie is a part of her family. This is what she had to say about her relationship with Sharkie, "I took care of him and he took care of me. With Sharkie, he's literally a baby so he's my baby. Raising him, feeding him, playing with him. I feel like a mother postpartum."
